- Rihanna looked more like herself
- Justin Timberlake's performance
- J-Lo's leg
- Prince presented an award
- Carrie Underwood is a class act
- Kelly Rowland looked so damn good
- LL Cool J milking the game for all it's worth
- Twitter's hashtag humor
- The hell happened to Lupe Fiasco?
- Kanye West wasn't in the building
- Beyonce wore pants
- I knew only one-fourth of the performers
- I still don't understand Frank Ocean's appeal
- I will never understand Taylor Swift's appeal
- Hip Hop is dead, yo
- I'd rather watched Sunday Night Football
- all the music sounded alike
- Twitter ripped Alicia Keys

What is up with the hatred of Alicia Keys? My goodness.
ReplyDeleteThis Grammys showed me that I am not a young person anymore. I didn't know 80% of the performers. I got excited when Prince came out because I thought he may at least sing a little Purple Rain... or little red corvette, etc.
I don't listen to current radio, so of course I don't know who is popular now. But most of it did sound the same. I would give anything to hear something that has the depth of Earth Wind and Fire... sigh.
I cannot understand why anyone could dislike Alicia's music, she's good to go, as far as I'm concerned. Same here, hella old, cause I didn't know hardly any of the artists. It was sad. Lol. I would've given anything to hear Maxwell sing Bob Marley's classic No Woman, No Cry.
DeleteBET awards, tonight. Lol.
What were those twitter goofs saying about AK?
ReplyDeleteWow, I forgot Kelly was even there.
Yep, rap is dead. It died in 1999.
All I ever think when I see Taylor Swift is that she has bad posture.
I miss the old Jlo. I saw her in a film over the weekend in a film and she was sooo hot.
#LMAOOOOOO You A-Keys STAN You ;-D
DeleteIf Taylor "THE FUGLY-HAG" Had been Wearing SHADES... She would've LQQKED LIKE That Michael Caine Character in "Dressed To Kill"
Was the Movie "Parker" with Jason Statham?!!? She was Pretty Good in that Movie (YUP...)
Lol!
DeleteTwitter complained that Keys screams and sings Girl On Fire too much. At least you gave rap music '99...I believe it died in '97. Jay Z and others held it down, but the spirit passed away after Tupac, then Biggie was murdered. Always good to see J-Lo.
DeleteI gotta see the movie Dressed To Kill. elove always cracks good jokes, so I know the comparison to Michael Caine character is hilarious.
I thought the Grammy's were okay. I felt that the the Bob Marley tribute could of been better . Overall, the show wasn't spectacular
ReplyDeleteI agree the show wasnt spectacular at all. Not really worth the time. Bob Marley tribute wasnt as good as I expected but it was cool.
DeleteCo-sign. Bob Marley tribute could've been much better than it was.
DeleteBlessings....
ReplyDeleteDidn't see

Agreed. Didn't see and I have not been in the habit of watching in years. Something are not worth viewing anymore.
DeleteI didn't even bother watching the awards, except for the Frank Ocean performance and everything that happened after that. What the hell was LL Cool J and Chuck D doing closing the show? Wanted to see Alicia Keys and Maroon 5, but I can always YouTube that.
ReplyDeleteI am a big Chuck D fan and respect LL's contributions to the game, but I couldn't feel the performance, at all. It wasn't even hip hop in my opinion. I would've preferred the original track and not all that rock and roll fusion.
DeleteDidn't WASTE MY TIME and Haven't watched in A MINUTE (WORD...)
ReplyDeleteI saw Pictures via Da Twittah and Kelly was JUST GORGEOUS and I saw some of the Pre-Grammy Coverage on E! and Janelle Monae was LQQKING DAMN GOOD Too (Yup...) She speaks with SUCH Insight and Intellect Too (LUVS THAT...)
DISLIKES #5 #6 ----> TOO MF-ING ON-POINT!!!!!
I agree, Janelle looked great.
DeleteI muted Taylor Swifts entire performance . I agree with all your likes, especially Prince and Beyonce. And kelly,s dress. I was surprised Kanye wasn't there. I was impressed by Miguel. Never heard of him before.
ReplyDeletePrince walked out like he was royalty. Lol. Boss. I wonder why Kanye wasn't in the building?
DeleteJustin was awesome but I love me some him.
ReplyDeleteBob Marley Tribute wasnt really long enough or as good I would of preferred.
JLO - haute
Miguel cool but what was up with Wiz's fit?
Boo for Beyonce's pants but Kelly served it.
honestly, I am not a huge AK fan but her performance was pretty cool with Maroon 5
I gotta give it up to Timberlake, he was jammin' and smooth. Yes, Kelly Rowland definitely served up some lovely black woman. Yes indeed. I enjoyed Keys/Maroon 5 performance as well.
DeleteI think it's fair to say that NONE of us undertsand Taylor Swift. FYI, in case you didn't know, Michael J. Fox publically said he wouldn't allow his son to date her. He said he's raised his son too well to become fodder for a song should the relationship not work and has no respect for her using someone's sadness for her gain.
ReplyDeleteOverall, I can't say I liked or disliked the Grammys. I found the women's fashion rather awful; especially Adele's frock and I love me some Adele. I liked that she gave Chris Brown the verbal biz for his lack of respect by remaining seated.
I liked the old school/new school artist performances; notably Elton John and Ed Sheeran and Sting with Bruno Mars. Funny thing on that was I'd never heard the Bruno Mars song and commented on how it sounded a little like Walking on the Moon and then they performed it. I know my music ;-) lol
Wiz looked like he stunk! The Dream looked a bloated dirty mess.
The Bob Marley tribute was lackluster and not that great, which was disappointing.
Overall, the Grammys was better than I thought it would be, but I can't say I'd do it again.
to become fodder for a song should the relationship not work and has no respect for her using someone's sadness for her gain.
DeleteHilarious. Cause you know that is EXACTLY what will happen.
The Dream scared me. Lol. Seems to me that much more preparation could've been shown towards the artists selected to pay homage to Bob Marley. Not that it was terrible, but it wasn't that flavor.
I watched about an hour of the Grammys. I didn't know anybody. And the lack of hip hop was extremely frustrating. I went online and I saw that NaS didn't win Hip Hop album of the year. After seeing that, I was done.
ReplyDeleteI won't watch the Grammys next year
